There’s a lot of hate toward adsense. But the fact is adsense is one of the main income sources for me. Now adsense might not be something everyone likes. Even though google has strived for adding as much customization options as possible for the user. There are still instances where you’ll get the wrong ads on your site.
Also adsense will only work, meaning you’ll see a substantial source of income, when you have a large amount of traffic. Without it, don’t even bother slapping adsense on your site.
Most people just slap as many adsense ads as they can on the site. Hoping for their audience will click on it. The best way is to blend your adsense. Make them blend in your text and almost become one with the website.
I recentlt started a site within the paramedic training niche, click the link for a good example on how to blend and use adsense properly on a website. Here the adsense is blended with the site. Where I use matching colours of blue, orange and black, so it’s more easy on the eyes and making the ads “less obvious”.
I’ve also added the adsense right beneath the banner and header. To make it seem like mini navigation bar, which hopefully entices people to click on.
You generally want to steer away from blatant obvious image ads. Stick to text. I’ve gotten most succes with text adsense than rich image ads. Maybe because it’s just too obvious with image ads “trying to hard to sell” is always a turn-off. Also with text ads, you’ll usually get freebie clicks when they unintentionally click them because they think it was a link. Yes it’s a bit sly, but it works.
Anyways, the key is blending. So again check my site above to get a clear indication of how proper adsense should be displayed.
Some people might think, well isn’t it scaming people when you blend links? Well of course not. As long as you adhere to the adsense rules there are no scaming involved. Just smart advertisement is what I say.
