Last night I was watching the news and one of the oddest stories I have ever heard about happened. A Phoenix police officer was arrested for a DUI in Phoenix. It looks like he was on duty and for whatever reason, decided to have a few drinks while still working. He stuck a six pack of beer from his house into his patrol car and drank it while parked at a local park. I am sure the last thing that he ever would happen to him is that he would get stopped an arrested for a DUI in Phoenix.
After all, he is a police officer himself, and I am sure he has arrested a lot of drivers for a DUI in Phoenix. It looks like the Phoenix police was suspicious and sent another undercover police officer to find him. The Phoenix police department dispatch had been trying to call him on his radio and cell phone for a number of hours but he was answering the calls. That is when they sent a local undercover unit to find him. When the undercover unit noticed him, he was parked at a local park. He was in the parking lot drinking a beer while sitting in the driver’s seat.
The undercover unit then radioed the central police station the information they had observed. The police sergeant in charge that night decided it was time to confront the Phoenix police officer for drinking on duty. When the Phoenix police sergeant went to the scene, he went in an unmarked vehicle so he would not be recognized. He went up to the squad car and knocked on the window. At that point, the squad was turned on the drunk Phoenix police officer looked like he had passed out at the wheel. The Sergeant knocked on the window again to wake up the drunk police officer.
The drunk police officer woke up right away but he was too drunk to know what was going on. But after a few moments he cleared his head and knew that he had been caught for being drunk on duty. The police officer opened up the driver’s side door and stepped out the squad car. But when he tried to get out of the car, he was so drunk that he tripped and fell down to the ground. At that point the police sergeant did not even need to ask him if had been drinking. He already knew the answer to that question.
The drunk police officer not only lost his job for drinking on the job, but he was also arrested for driving drunk. That is because a police officer can be guilty of a DUI if he behind the wheel while drunk.
